Project Overview

This project is a super high-rise complex integrating office spaces, high-end commercial facilities, and urban sightseeing. The main tower adopts a "mega frame-core tube-outrigger truss" structural system. With minimalist modernism as its core design concept, the building creates a tall and lightweight skyline image through the combination of transparent glass curtain walls and light gray vertical metal decorative strips.

To meet the stringent requirements of super high-rise buildings for durability, wind erosion resistance, and appearance consistency, a high-performance fluorocarbon coating system was ultimately selected for the project, applied to the concrete structures, metal decorative components, and fireproof sealing panels of the main tower and the attached podium building.

Coating Selection and Technical Advantages

1. Core Materials

• Concrete Substrate: A system of epoxy sealing primer + epoxy micaceous iron intermediate paint + fluorocarbon topcoat

• Metal Components / Fireproof Panels: A system of epoxy primer + epoxy micaceous iron intermediate paint + fluorocarbon topcoat

2. Technical Highlights

• Superior Weather Resistance and UV Resistance: The C-F bonds in the fluorocarbon resin molecular structure have extremely high bond energy, which can resist long-term exposure to intense ultraviolet radiation at high altitudes, ensuring no significant chalking or fading of the coating within 25 years.

• Wind Erosion and Impact Resistance: The dense coating structure can withstand the impact of sand and dust carried by high-velocity airflow at high altitudes, preventing coating abrasion and cracking to ensure long-term integrity of the facade.

• Self-Cleaning and Stain Resistance: The extremely low surface tension of the coating surface allows rainwater to form a complete water film, washing away dust and pollutants, thus reducing the cost of high-altitude cleaning and maintenance for super high-rise buildings.

• Temperature Difference and Water Resistance: The coating can withstand extreme temperature variations from -20℃ to 70℃ and has excellent water penetration resistance, effectively blocking the intrusion of rainwater and salt into the substrate to prevent concrete freeze-thaw damage and metal component corrosion.

Key Construction Processes

Substrate Preparation

• Concrete Surface: A combined process of high-pressure water jetting and shot blasting is used to thoroughly remove laitance and carbonized layers. Holes and defects are leveled in layers with epoxy putty to ensure the substrate flatness deviation is ≤2mm/m.

• Metal Components / Fireproof Panels: Sandblasted to achieve Sa2.5 rust removal grade, eliminating scale and rust, with surface roughness controlled at 40-70μm to provide optimal adhesion for the primer.

Primer Application

The epoxy primer is uniformly applied using high-pressure airless spraying, with a dry film thickness of ≥80μm, forming a dense barrier to block the penetration of moisture and salt. For super high-rise construction, zoned operations are adopted, combined with gondola and building maintenance unit (BMU) systems to ensure uniform spraying.

Intermediate Paint Application

Epoxy micaceous iron intermediate paint is sprayed, with a dry film thickness of ≥150μm, further enhancing the coating's corrosion resistance and thickness uniformity, and providing a smooth transition layer for the topcoat.

Topcoat Application

The fluorocarbon topcoat is applied in two coats, with a total dry film thickness of ≥200μm. During construction, ambient temperature (5-35℃) and humidity (≤85%) are strictly controlled, and a wet film thickness gauge is used for real-time monitoring to ensure uniform coating thickness. The light gray topcoat precisely echoes the cool texture of the glass curtain walls, enhancing the vertical extension of the building.

Quality Inspection

Upon completion, verification is conducted through adhesion cross-cut tests, impact resistance tests, salt spray resistance tests, and color difference tests, with all results exceeding national standards and the client's customized requirements.
